I finally watched The Biggest Loser finale and other stuff

I got home late Tuesday nite so I decided to wait until Thursday to watch the Biggest Loser final (we recorded it on TiVo, gotta love it).  Hey, I cheated on Tuesday and went to the end to see who won but I still watched it last nite anyhow.  I actually sort of cried at beginng but didn’t let my honey see me.  Honey has been watching most of them with me and tonite he watched with me.  I think watching what everyone has done, especially the bigger men, has put some thoughts into his head and got him thinking.  Almost 2 years ago he was right around 300 lbs when we joined the gym.  Now is roughly 267-269 and since he’s such  a picky eater his eating habits are not quite that great but he does try.  He switched from regular pop to diet, he’ll only drink diet squirt or diet sierra mist.  But anyways, he did something that was kinda surprising to me.  When we were done watching  there’s an option to keep the show or delete it.  I have been deleting the shows after I watch them to keep space open for other stuff to record.  When I told him to delete he said “no, keep it.”  I asked why and he says “for inspiration”.  WHAT!!?? I just said okay and left it there.  If this is what he needs then we’ll keep it.  After seeing these guys that went close to and over 400 lbs look the way they do now he sees that it can be done.  I keep telling him I’m gonna send him to Jullian.  I have on out little board on the refrigerator in big letters “JILLIAN IS WATCHING”.  I also have something like “do you really need it” written on there to and something else that I can’t remember at the moment.  It makes you sort of stop and think before you open the refrigerator. Over the next week I might see if he’ll let me make him up  a training schedule.  He already has one but I think mine will be better.  I tell him he needs to stop using some of the weight machines and switch to free weights.  He would have much better results using those.  I know because I can’t use some of the machines because I don’t feel that I get as much out of them as I do using free weights.  After the new year and we get the house situated, I’m making one of the bedrooms into my workout room for doing DVDs, we have to get back into our old routine and kicking some major butt.  I would like to take some sort of Kempo Karate or Madarin Kung Fu classes but I am so so so very shy that I could have a panic attack.  That’s why I’m getting cardio kickboxing DVDs.  We’ve been talking about getting a punching bag but have no where to put it.  I have lots and lots of built up aggression that I could have field day on a punching bag.  I will have to discuss putting one in the garage.  Okay, I have rambled enough.  Thanks for reading my rumblings.  Have a holiday everyone.

Randomness

Just a bunch of babble.  I’ve been stuck here at 221 lbs for quite some time now.  For now I just want to get to 199 out of the 200’s.  Of course since my father’s passing in October honey and I haven’t exactly been hitting the gym like we should and I get burned out going there day after day that I have to take a week or so off which doesn’t help me any.  I’m getting one of the bedrooms upstairs cleaned out and set up so I can take a tv and dvd player up there and do dvds when I get burned out from the gym.  I do different cardio everytime I there but I still get burned out.  We don’t get home until after 7:00 p.m. when we go there after work.  It’s a 1 hour drive from there (we both work near the gym) to our house.  Oh well, I will survive.  I need to get back into lifting which is what I love more than cardio.

I have my grandson only this weekend which I am looking forward to.  He is on the low spectrum of autisum and he’s an absolute joy to have around.  He’s talking so much better now and he’s actually so smart for his 5 yrs.  On Thanksgiving at my sister’s house he was playing with some toys my brother-in-law got out for him and he wanted the lights on the motorcycles to work like the lights on the helicopter.  My brother-in-law told him the lights don’t light up.  Well a few hours later my grandson bring him the motorcycles with the lights working.  My brother-in-law was totally floored. He thought they didn’t light up but that little professer found out they did.

It’s cold here and we’re expecting snow (YUCK) tomorrow through Friday.  We have a winter weather advisery out where I live so by the time we get home Thursday nite we could have up to a foot of snow.  YUCK, DOUBLE YUCK.  If you can’t tell I hate snow.  I am even born and raised here and I still hate snow and cold.  Mainly the cold, especially the wind chills we have here.  We’re expecting another large load of wood  so that means we will be  unloading the trailer and stacking it in the garage in possible a lot of snow.  YUCK.  I know my fiance will tell me I don’t have to help but I’m the type of person to leave him out there by himself.  Besides I love that physical type of stuff.  It’s better than going to the gym.

Okay lunch is over.  Back to work.

A Few Thoughts

Had a nice weekend, got to go see my beloved Buffalo Sabres in their last pre-season game.  Honey and I are hoping somebody he works with has some season tickets they can’t use otherwise that may be our one and only game.  Just about every game is sold out, with the exception of single seats and a few of the higher priced games we can’t afford to go to, which of course is when they play the Toronto Maple Leafs. Those are ususally really good games.  If anyone remembers last season with their game against the Ottawa Senators when Chris Drury was hit in the face and the BIG BRAWL ensued at the next face off I WAS THERE!! Man was that sweet.  We were up the upper level (way up) and probably that was the best place to be since everyone was on their feet for at least 20 mintues cheering.  Yeah, I’ll admit I watch hockey for the fighting.  But more than that too.  I was raised watching hockey because my fan was the big fan.  Since we won’t get many, if any, hockey games we are going to try to get season tickets to the Buffalo Bandits (indoor lacrosse) they are quite good too and they’re fans are something else, it’s an experience going to one of their games.

Okay, so I buy alfalfa sprouts to put on my turkey sandwich to “volumectrize” it.  If you’ve read Volumetrics you know what I’m talking about.  The package says it’s 1 serving.  No, I don’t think so.  That’s a lot of sprouts, I think I took maybe 1/4 of the package.  Not sure if I really liked it but it was different than a plain turkey sandwich.  Something I’ll have to get used to.  Maybe I’ll buy some whole wheat pita and try my sandwich that way.

DelMonte Fruit Naturals - has anyone had these?  The local grocery store has them on sale so I look at the container and see 70 calories.  Seeing as they were in a little cup with a peel off top I just assume (never assume anything) that it’s one serving.  WRONG!  It’s actually 2 servings at 70 calories a serving.  Okay, I need my fruit so I have the whole thin with my lunch.  But now that I know it’s 2 servings I can split it up at home.  But that’s okay cuz now instead of  having them for 10 lunches I get 20 lunches, YES!!  Good thing is even if I have a homemade meatball sub for dinner I still come in pretty well under my upper calorie limit, provided I have a relatively light snack after dinner.

Our Monthly Weigh In - Honey and I have decided to have a weigh on the 1st of every month but I think I need to change it to the first Monday of every month because if the 1st falls on a Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday it will mess up having it consistently in the evening after we get home from the gym.  Wednesdays and Fridays are bowling nights so we’re not home until 11 or after and Saturday and Sundays we don’t go the gym.

Okay, lunch is over, have to get back to work.

To Be Cont…..
